Many people especially girls might be shy to talk about the issue of sex but consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Datuk Dr Nor Ashikin Mokhtar revealed that a good sex life is an important part of an individual's overall health as it can be a wonderful cementer or a terrible wedge for a relationship.
At the upcoming FemmeCity on 31 July, Dr Nor Ashikin will be presenting a talk entitled ‘Good Health, Great Sex ... For A Better Life'.
She agreed with the fact that keeping the sexual spark alive in a marriage or in a long-term relationship was easier said than done.
In addition she mentioned that couples who take time to cultivate and maintain healthy and satisfying sexual relations tend to be more connected with each other and do not suffer from depression, heart problems and other health maladies.
All these were evidence from scientific research which revealed that good sex not only add enjoyment to life but at the same time it also improves one's health and may even contribute to longevity.
Dr Nor Ashikin noted that sexual intimacy should be one of the greatest pleasure of being human as no one wants to be with a partner who is merely going through the motions, everyone should just enjoy it or don't do it.
FemmeCity is organised by Clove, The Star's monthly women's pullout. The fair will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from July 30 to Aug 1. Participation in this talk is free. To register, call 03-7967 1388 (ext 1456).
